The Bloodstone is an original work in progress that came to me in a dream! It is a story of self-fulfilled prophecies, doomed love, forced inheritance, and the fall into darkness. It has classic gothic romantic themes and aesthetic. I like to compare it to a weird blend of Beauty and The Beast and Crimson Peak. Here's a brief snapshot into this WIP: "Princess Astrea watched the dark and mysterious King of Shadows dance across the glistening floors of the crystal palace. He was elegant, lithe, dressed in the blackest of midnight silks, bejeweled in blood red rubies. His high collar framed his neck as his long, curly red hair fell messily around his face. He was handsome; handsome in a way he most certainly should not be and Astrea knew she should look away. But she could not. The Shadow King saw her staring and winked impishly before dipping his dancing partner and kissing her hand goodbye. The maiden giggled and blushed, much to Astrea's annoyance. She paused her annoyance, however, as the mischievous King approached and bowed before her. "My Princess," he spoke, extending his gloved hand, "Would you have me for this dance?"
